4. Non invasive
The development of MRI technology has progressed so rapidly compared to other methods of diagnosis. For example, methods like biopsies are highly accurate and effective but are invasive for the patient. MR imaging technology can now achieve the same results.
A study found that using MRI scans to determine the need for biopsy could have avoided 38 percent of biopsies and still identified 89 percent of clinically significant cancers.
The MRI examination only takes a fraction of the time of other diagnostic methods without the long wait times to get your results. With MRI scans you can get your results in approximately 20 to 30 minutes. This can be beneficial if a serious disease or dangerous tumor is found for example, as treatment can begin quicker.
Radiation can cause harmful effects on human health, not only do MRI scans avoid this issue completely, but they are also more effective and more accurate in establishing health abnormalities than other methods.
